This training will review contraceptive considerations related to co-occurring medical conditions and medications commonly used by people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. Through interactive case studies, we will discuss caregiver roles, consent, menstruation, and exam accommodations. We will also explore how the medicalization of disability can contribute to ableism, stigma, and reproductive coercion. Participants will explore an alternative model and receive resources for implementing changes in their practice.
