Implementing Quality Family Planning for Prescribers
The goal of this educational activity is to provide experienced family planning providers with updates on a full range of contraceptive methods and information on select key issues relevant use of contraception.
1. Explain prescribing information on a full range of contraceptive methods. Apply the most current evidence-based information about contraceptive methods when educating and counseling clients.
2. Demonstrate the use of the U.S. MEC/SRR app to identify category 4s for progestin-only and combined hormonal methods of contraception.
3. Describe 3 examples of evidence-based information about contraceptive methods that could be appropriate to share with clients when engaging in contraception counseling.
4. Demonstrate asking open-ended questions to help clients clarify their preferences about contraception.
